Each graded reader has an accompanying worksheet. This provides learners with an opportunity and motivation to reread the text to construct meaning of what they read.

The primary purpose of these worksheets is to encourage children to engage with the stories in a fun and educational way.

If children are able to complete the entire set of worksheets across their three years of Foundation Phase schooling they would have had explicit practice in all the reading and writing components – vocabulary, comprehension and writing with phonics and phonological awareness activities embedded in vocabulary and writing activities.

The worksheets are based on CAPS, the DBE workbooks, published worksheets and decades of teaching experience.
